Ryanair’s outspoken CEO, Michael O’Leary, has made a bold prediction: If Donald Trump returns to the White House, airfares will drop significantly.
His reasoning? A Trump administration would likely expand oil and gas production, reducing global fuel costs. Since fuel accounts for a substantial portion of airline expenses, lower prices could lead to cheaper tickets for passengers.
O’Leary also expects Trump to roll back environmental taxes and push back on the net-zero movement, creating a more favorable climate for airline operations.
Additionally, he remains optimistic about Boeing’s future, noting that Ryanair’s long-term plans depend on increased deliveries of the Boeing 737 MAX. Whether Trump’s policies would truly lead to more budget-friendly travel remains to be seen, but the aviation industry is watching closely.
